GIRL, SO CONFUSING

GIRL, SO CONFUSING

It’s hard to be a girl.

It’s even harder to be a girl in this sexist and misogynist world.

As young girls we’re taught to compete with other girls. It’s fueled by a macho, testosterone-driven culture. It’s a toxic mindset that views girls as mere objects to be controlled instead of being treated as equals. It reinforces gender stereotypes and holds back women’s progress in every sphere.

BUT, there’s a promising culture shift happening right now where girls are lifting each other and fighting tooth and (eco-friendly) nail against the patriarchy’s relentless attempts to portray us as rivals or “better than this other girl.”

Cut to Charlie and Lorde’s surprise collab which, I say proudly, is on constant repeat.

I don’t need to say anything more. Just read for yourself these Reddit comments that will heal your inner girl.

I live for this healthy resolve between two creatives. It’s a complete 180 from the boy beef between Kendrick and Drake. There’s enough hate, problems, and worries in this world. Girls, let’s show these boys how it’s done.
