WELCOME TO GIRLWORLD

WELCOME TO GIRLWORLD

I’m more girly now than when I was a little girl. I’m 44. It’s probably driven by a big marketing ploy centered upon a four-letter word - GIRL (think girl dinner, girl math, cherry girl, etc.) Whatever the motive, it’s definitely backfiring. Yes, I am more girly now, but I feel more powerful than ever.

Why?

On the surface, this so-called-trend leans on girlcore aesthetics like ribbons and bows, but when you dare to dig deeper, you discover what was buried there all along - our girlhood. Women lose touch with our inner child sooner than men (usually during puberty). Some are forced to grow up quickly (taking care of our younger siblings even though we were children ourselves). Some women bury their girlhood when we take upon new roles like career, partner, motherhood.

This trend was innocently presented to us - tied with a cute, little bow. But we women are smart and began untying the bow to reveal what was there all along - our origin story, our girlhood, our inner girl. So come in. Let’s visit her. Let’s relive her stories. And together, let’s write our new stories. Welcome to GirlWorld.
